Jerry Reed
In celebration of the life and music of the late Jerry Reed a
concert was organised in Nashville by our dear friend Richard Smith on
15th September 2008. Twentyone musicians paid tribute in words and
music providing a 21 Guitar Salute to the great picker, song writer
and film star.
Thom Bresh, one of the performers has made a double disk DVD of the
show with proceeds going to Jerry's favourite charity The Wounded
Warriors Project. I hope to buy a number of these for sale in the UK
for those of you who do not like to purchase over the internet. You

Chico Holton
My friend Chico Holton, musician and artist, from Wiltshire has a three hour radio programme on a Monday night from 20.00 to 23.00 on Warminster Community Radio referred to as WCR. The programme is called Roots and Roll and is basically Chico sharing his passion for country music. However he is a big fan of Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Merle Travis and his programme embraces some great guitar music. You can stream the programme via your computer by logging on to www.wcrfm.org.uk and clicking on the old brown radio on the homepage. You can e-mail Chico during the programme with comments and I guess you could try requests as he plays music from his own collection which is considerable.
