Richard SmithThis will be Richard's fifth or sixth visit to us
but this time the concert will be held in
Grange Hall,
not The Black Lion pub.Vicarage Lane, Radcliffe-on-Trent Notts NG12 2FB This will be great entertainment in an excellent venue with seating at tables and a bar. For the aspiring guitarists amongst you Richard will be holding a workshop on Thursday 22nd November 2007 (the night before the concert). This will be in the same venue but in a smaller room. It is anticipated that the workshop will be from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm and the cost will be £25 each. Numbers will be limited for the workshop so get your name down early. 
UK born Richard lives in Nashville and is regarded as one of the best guitar pickers on the scene today. He was influenced by guitar legends Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Lenny Breau and Django Reinhardt. Richard does studio session work and plays in a local bluegrass band. He also tours with and plays lead guitar in the very popular Hot Club de Nashville a Django Reinhardt tribute band. Richard was the winner of the prestigious Winfield Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in 2001. He was a protégé of the late Chet Atkins who said of Richard "The most amazing guy I know on the guitar.
